About Us

Empowering Students and Families Through Advocacy and Support

Our Journey

Empowered is a leading advocacy and support organization dedicated to empowering students with disabilities by partnering with families and school districts to create inclusive, impactful educational experiences.

Founded by a team with extensive expertise in special education, psychology, and digital innovation, Empowered offers a holistic approach to advocacy and education. One co-founder brings over 25 years of experience in special education leadership, having served as the principal of a specialized high school and as a professor of special education courses at a local university. Another co-founder, a licensed psychologist with over a decade of experience, has worked as a school psychologist and in private practice, specializing in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, providing critical support for emotional and behavioral challenges. Combined, they have participated in over 500 Committee on Special Education (CSE) and IEP meetings with schools and families.

Together, this team combines individualized educational planning, strategic interventions, and digital tools to support families in navigating special education processes and equip school districts with the resources needed to foster inclusive learning environments. Empowered is committed to helping students with disabilities reach their full potential and ensuring that families and educators have the support and advocacy they need for a meaningful, positive impact through a collaborative process.

“Alone we can do so little. Together we can do so much.” — Helen Keller
